As part of Odfjell Technology, Well Services is a significant global player within the upstream oilfield service sector, providing tubular running services, drilling tool rental and well intervention services, employing hundreds of skilled, highly qualified and engaged employees based all over the globe.
A vacancy has arisen for the position as Legal Counsel in Well Services, where you will be part of the legal team in Odfjell Technology and report to the General Counsel. The position will be based in Norway, preferably in Bergen or Stavanger.
Preferred knowledge, skills & qualifications:
•Master’s degree in law. Knowledge of English law (in addition to Norwegian law) would be positive
•Minimum 3 – 5 years’ experience from contractual work, preferably related to the oil and gas service industry
•Excellent legal and contractual competence
•Fluent in English, both oral and written
•Resourceful, independent and ability to see the big picture and the important details
•Excellent communication and cooperation skills
•Accurate and systematic with high quality standards
•High level of personal integrity
•Efficient and flexible
•Capable of delivering quality on time
The main duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the responsibilities detailed below:
•Evaluate terms and conditions, risks and insurance requirements in all WS tenders and other contracts
•Be a resource person in tenders and contract negotiations, including risk assessment and improvement processes
•Be a resource person and advisor for WS’ global and regional management, business development and operations in all contract and legal issues
•Be a resource person for the General Counsel and contribute to maintaining and further developing the group’s legal competence with a view to ensure quality, competitiveness and customer satisfaction
•Contribute to planning, establishing and coordinating measures to maintain, coordinate, strengthen and continuously improve the group’s legal and contractual work
•Contribute to develop and define goals and action plans for the discipline in cooperation with the General Counsel
